2023 Presidency:

THE ODDS AGAINST TINUBU

By Leye Adio

At the recently concluded National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu cut aee lone figure. Seated beside Bisi Akande at the VIP section inside the Eagles Square, the National Leader of the ruling party wore a stone-face which summed up the disheartening thoughts racing through his mind. He looked quite disturbed and was not in his usual best element.

The Lion of Bourdillon looked somewhat tamed. He looked deserted as most of his hardcore loyalists who usually thronged his presence at such big occasions were nowhere to be found. For close watchers, Asiwaju's state of mind is a crystal reflection of the frustration dogging his bid for the Nigerian presidency in 2023.

 OSIBAJO VS TINUBU

Let's Have A National Debate, Says Veteran Broadcaster, Jimi Disu

By Lanre Olaleye

Veteran broadcaster, Jimi Disu has called for a national debate between the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibajo and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the run up to the party's primary election.

Both Osibajo and Tinubu have become frontline contenders for the APC presidential ticket even as there have been allegations of betrayal from the opposing camps. The Vice President who was appointed Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General by Tinubu when the latter was Governor of Lagos has been accused of being a betrayer by Tinubu's loyalists.

But Disu, a public commentator and a classmate of the Vice President rose in stout defence of his childhood friend, describing allegation of betrayal being impuned on Osibajo as lazy and pedestal.

Lagos Appoints MC Oluomo Parks Management Committee Chairman

By Lanre Olaleye

In what appears as the last scene of a plot, the Lagos State Government has appointed the suspended Lagos State Council Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya popularly called MC Oluomo, as the chairman of its new Parks Management Committee.

Oluomo's appointment which was contained on a press statement yesterday did not come as a surprise to keen followers of the power play among members of the road transport union in the state.
