Atiku Clinches PDP Presidential Ticket

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Elections.

After the counting of the total votes by accredited delegates at the presidential primary held at the MKO National Stadium, Abuja, Abubakar polled 371 votes to beat his closest rival, Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who polled 273 votes.

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of State for Defence, says he is displeased with the process and eventual outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos West Senatorial primary where he lost to the former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Idiat Adebule.

It was a perfect home coming for Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as he breezed into Lagos for a rousing welcome after the conclusion of his nationwide consultation and interaction with critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over his 2023 Presidential ambition.

As early as 7 am all roads led to the Yard 158 Event Centre along the Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun as politicians from the 57 LGs and LCDAs of Lagos, technocrats, academia, artisans, lawyers, friends and associates thronged the event centre to honour Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to the 'State of Excellence.'

 Kidnapped Anambra Lawmaker Beheaded

Gunmen have beheaded a lawmaker in the Anambra State House Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye.

Okoye’s head was found at Nnobi in Idemili South local government area of the State where it was hanged.

The lawmaker who represented Aguatu Constituency II in the State Assembly was kidnapped last week with one person in his Toyota Sienna car.

It was gathered the police later recovered the car and deployed operatives to rescue the lawmaker.

  Lagos West Councillors Pledge Support To Obanikoro

The former Minister of State for Defence and leading Senatorial Aspirant in Lagos West, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro has received the support of all Councilors in Lagos West Senatorial District. 

In a meeting held at the KORO Campaign Organization (KCO) office in Ikeja, the Councilors under the aegis of the Lagos West Councilors Forum described the meeting as a recognition and an honour done on them by Senator Obanikoro. 

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the forum Chairman, Hon. Aliu Najeemdeen Olohuntoyin, posited that Senator Obanikoro is the only aspirant who has honoured the Councilors by recognizing and calling on their support towards achieving his Senatorial ambition. 

YAYI GROUP ENDORSES OBANIKORO FOR LAGOS WEST

Coordinators of Senator Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) Campaign Organization across all Local Government Areas in the Lagos West Senatorial District have endorsed Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro as their aspirant in the forthcoming election into the Nigerian Senate. 

The endorsement which took place at the Obanikoro Campaign Office in Ikeja had all coordinators in attendance. 

The group, which was led by the Director-General of YAYI Campaign Organization, BIQ Raji Label, described Senator Obanikoro as a credible, competent, compassionate and experienced candidate who will take Lagos West and by extension, Lagos State to higher heights.

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has resigned his appointment, to allow him to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Amaechi’s resignation is coming after President Buhari on Wednesday directed all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) running for elective offices to submit their letters of resignation on or before Monday, May 16, 2022.
