APC Petitioned Over Isolo Council Boss' Indifference To Party Affairs
The petition which was addressed to the state party chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi is coming on the heels of the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
A source close to the party disclosed that the local chapter of the party took the decision to report the council boss to the party secretariat following unfavourable report on the council administration ahead of the forthcoming local elections.
The party, according to sources has been inundated with widespread condemnation as the council administration unsuccessfully grapple with difficulty in providing basic amenities despite huge monthly federal allocation at its disposal.
Again, sources say Otunba Adebayo has become a heavy burden on the shoulders of Isolo APC even as majority of it's members have become ardent critics of the council boss.
Worse still, the secretariat of the party located at Onawale Street, Isolo is literally in a state of comatose with overgrown weeds, cracked walls and general unhabitable environment. The poor state of the party secretariat, according to party officials is not unconnected with lack of funding occasioned by Otunba Olasoju's indifferent attitude towards the party and it's affairs.
A reliable source close to the egg heads at the secretariat told our reporter the council boss has literally starved off the party the much needed funds to run the secretariat and payment of over head cost.
"How do we even convince our members talk less of the electorates. He's a big burden on the party because there is no performance good enough to showcase him as our candidate in the coming election.
"Besides, he has starved the party of fund to run our programmes. How do we mobilize the electorates to vote for our candidates when the council chairman blatantly refused to support the party.
"The petition was ostensibly designed to notify the party of the impending danger in Isolo ahead of the elections. He showed his indifference during the last general election before some influential members of the party bailed us out of a near disaster," one of our sources revealed.
Meanwhile, the petition has received the attention of the state party secretariat with the summoning of Otunba to defend the allegations raised against him by the local party chairman, Barr. Ganiu Bello at the state party secretariat on Tuesday, January 28th 2025.
