Asalu-Elemo Family Queries Baale of Mafoluku

. For Convening Unauthorized Meeting

Baale of Mafoluku Ilemo Kingdom, Chief Dayo Thomas has been queried by the Ojo Orisadeko Asalu-Elemo Royal Family for convening an authorized meeting of the family.

This was part of the resolutions reached Sunday, 26^th January 2024 at the enlarge meeting of the family held at the late Osolo’s Palace, Isolo, Lagos.

The meeting which was attended by well over 120 family members from the five branches of the family came on the heels of the recent purported removal of the Family Secretary, Prince Abiodun Shekoni by a section of the family over his (Shekoni) refusal to give account of his stewardship on the family’s financial accounts and assets.

Though, the Family Head, Alhaji Monsurudeen Agbabiaka has since debunked the said removal of the Family Secretary as an unlawful exercise in futility, yet it was the major crux of discussion at the enlarge meeting.

The meeting lampooned Baale of Mafoluku Ilemo, Chief Dayo Thomas for spearheading the purported removal of the Family Secretary, Prince Biodun Shekoni.

Rather, the family unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Family Head and the Secretary for their sterling performance and achievements since taking over the mantle of the family leadership.

It was also resolved that a letter should be forwarded Chief Dayo Thomas to explain reasons for allegedly convening a family meeting without the authorization of the Family Head.

Also, letters debunking the removal of Prince Shekoni as the Family Secretary were to be dispatched to official restating the true position of things.

Speaking on the purported removal of the Family Secretary, the Baale of Ojo Orisadeko, Chief Babatunde Oladehinde Shekoni did not mince his word in pouring cold water on the claim. “No, it is not true because in any family there are processes and procedures in selecting and removing officers of the family. In Ojo Orisadeko, we have a Family Head who has the authority to remove the Family Secretary. The Family Head was the one that choose the secretary using his own prerogative. The whole family appointed Alhaji Monsuru Agbabiaka as the Family Head and he used his own discretion to choose Prince Abiodun Shekoni to continue as Secretary after the late Baale of Mafoluku.

“I was told a meeting was held at Mafoluku where the purported removal of the secretary was announced but truly Baale Dayo Thomas is the Baale of Mafoluku, he doesn’t have the authority to remove the Family Secretary. The removal and retention of the Family Secretary is the prerogative of the Family Head in the person of Alhaji Monsuru Agbabiaka.” Chief Shekoni said.

This position was also corroborated by the five representatives out of the five branches of the family in separate interviews with The Snoop. They include Alhaji Moshood Bakare (Jeminatu Branch);Alhaji Wasiu Shabiolegbe (Shabiolegbe Branch); Alhaji Rasak Yahya Sunmonu (Sunmonu Branch) and Alhaji Wasiu Shekoni (Jinadu Branch). However, Hon. Jide Alli-Balogun representing Ayisatu Branch was unavoidably absent at the meeting.
