Kentucky Blesses Fasting Muslims With Bags of Rice
U.S-based philanthropist, Kolawole Odubote a.k.a. Kentucky) is surely giving back to his community with the distribution of bags of rice to support Muslim faithfuls as a form of palliatives in this fasting period.
The distribution of the palliatives which began from his Goloba Street, Isolo, Lagos neighbourhood has since been extended to Muslim folks, friends and associate at LSDPC Estate, Agbabiaka, Mustapha, Moshalashi, Akinbaiye and other adjoining streets to reduce the economic burden on indigent Muslims willing to partake in fasting in this holy month of Ramadan.
This philanthropic initiative which started a few years ago further underscore Odubote's commitment to providing a shoulder to cushion the burden on the less privileged in the society.
As a direct point of contact, selected mosques and Quranic centres were selected as catchment areas even as the elderly were also carefully selected as beneficiaries.
Speaking from his New York-base, the Epe-born businessman said offering a helping hand to the indigents and the elderly at this critical time is a testament to the responsibility God has placed on us to look out for each other.
"Times are hard for our people and what better time to offer a helping hand other than now when we are all looking up to God to salvage this country.
"We cannot continue to look up to government at this critical period. A little help here and there can put smiles on the faces of our people. The responses we have gotten from this exercise has been tremendous which I think is the tonic we need to do more," says Kentucky.
Odubote's philanthropic gestures towards communal development has won him praises and accolades especially from the United Tailors Association of Isolo who honoured him with an award of excellence mid-last year for his gestures towards members of the association.
May almighty continue to bless u Kentucky
