Oshodi/Isolo Mandate Movement Gears Up For Council
Polls
. Restructures Leadership
for Effective Mobilization Drive
The Oshodi/Isolo Chapter of The Mandate Movement (TMM) is sparing no effort in mobilizing extensively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
A press release by
the Press Secretary to the Movement, Lanre Olaleye on Wednesday 22nd
January 2025 said the political group is poised to record a better performance
this time around in the coming council polls.
To achieve this, the
group has placed high priority on restructuring of its leadership status with
the involvement of more critical stakeholders selected across the three council
areas of Oshodi, Isolo and Ejigbo.
The restructuring is intended to bring all critical stakeholders together to achieve a united Mandate Movement in Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I and II, with every one working assiduously for the success of the political group as well as the APC.
Consequently, three
layers of leadership structures have therefore emerged with Governor’s Advisory
Council (GAC) influential member, Chief Muraina Akanbi Taiwo occupying the tip
of the apex leadership pyramid as the Chairman. He would be assisted by 12
other apex leaders selected from each of the three council areas. Their primary
responsibility is to provide leadership and draw up plans and strategies for
the smooth running of the political group across the three council areas as
well as acting as an advisory body to the Chairman of the apex leadership on
critical matters.
In Oshodi, the four apex leaders are Hon. S.O. Aina, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), Elder Ogunshakin and a yet to be named leader. For Isolo, the apex leaders include Hon. Niyi Fabikun, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye, the Isolo council chairman, Hon. Bayo Olasoju and Chief T.A. Amao while Ejigbo has Hon. Kehinde Bamgbetan, Ejigbo council chairman, Hon. Monsuru Oloyede (OBE); Engr. Fayomi and a yet to be named leader.
The second layer of
leadership structure is the Leaders and Elders which comprises of the apex chairman,
12 apex leaders, present and past office holders, LGA coordinators, LGA woman leader
and LGA youth leader.
The third layer of
the leadership structure is occupied by the Stakeholders. It is an enlarged
body comprising of the apex leaders, leaders/elders, LGA exco members and 10
nominees from each of the political wards.
Speaking on the new
development, the Apex Leader, Chief M.A. Taiwo enjoined all members and
intending of the group to embrace unity and cohesion- the basic ingredient for
mobilization to achieve political victory. “We must all come together for the progress
of our party. This is a mission we cannot afford to fail.” He said.
