MFM Boss, Olukoya Reacts To Sowore's Accusations, Says, Pastor Jimoh Was Involved in Multiple Offences
Mountain of
Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM) and its General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya,
have denied accusations that he {Dr. Olukoya} framed or imprisoned former pastors
Mr. Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele, or anyone else, for any period.
Olukoya addressed social media reports calling
for his arrest and prosecution over alleged police torture and the
incarceration of Mr. Femi Jimoh, a former pastor of the church.
Recently,
Omoyele Sowore, the convener of RevolutionNow, through the online platform
Sahara Reporters, urged the Nigeria Police Force to arrest and prosecute Dr.
Olukoya for allegedly influencing the nine-year incarceration of pastor Femi
Jimoh without trial.
Jimoh had accused the church of orchestrating
his detention over alleged armed robbery.
At a press
conference, the church's Chief Legal Adviser, Davidson Adejuwon, clarified that
Mr. Jimoh had been remanded and granted bail, but his family did not secure
sureties for his release.
He stated that while Mr. Jimoh served as a pastor, he was involved in multiple offenses at various branches, leading to internal discipline and redeployment.
Due to credible intelligence of a planned
armed attack on the church, the matter was reported to law enforcement, which
was then handled by the state.
Adejuwon
emphasized that the church and Dr. Olukoya are dedicated to the welfare and
security of their members, and they would not harbor anyone with criminal intentions.
He also noted the absurdity of claims that MFM
would frame its pastors over allegations involving the church's Chief Security
Officer (CSO) and a herbalist.
Witness
Pastor Moses Oluwadare confirmed that Pastor Jimoh worked with him in Warri,
Delta State, and was brought to the MFM headquarters in Lagos for deliverance
after being involved in adultery in 2002.
Another
witness, Mr. Michael Gbadamosi, denied allegations of visiting a herbalist in
Ogbomoso.
Jimoh
Omojomolo, a security personnel and member of the OPC in Iwaya, Yaba, recounted
that Pastor Femi approached him with a robbery plan targeting MFM church
offerings.
Omojomolo
involved other individuals and reported the matter to law enforcement.
They sought advice and took precautions,
including recording conversations with Femi.
Omojomolo and
another witness, Adebayo Fatai (also known as Aboki), corroborated the claims
that Pastor Femi attempted to involve them in the robbery.
Efforts to
contact Femi Jimoh or his lawyer were unsuccessful as their contacts were not
reachable.
