Isolo Throne: Eight Aspirants Threaten Legal Action Against Kingmakers

Eight aspirants to the vacant Isolo throne are poised to take legal action against Isolo Kingmakers, if they fail to nullify the selection of Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Yekini-Goloba as the Osolo-elect.

This is sequel to a letter written to the four Kingmakers by the chambers of Kay Ademiluyi & Attorneys demanding the nullification of the selection process earlier conducted by the Kingmakers.

Acting on behalf of the eight aspirants, the letter written on 23rd September 2024 titled: 'Irregularities and Illegalities In The Selection Process of Osolo of Isolo' asserts that the Kingmakers individual preferences superseded traditional Ifa divination rites even as they collectively and severally monetized the selection process.

The letter also alleged that each contestants was levied N3.5m each, totalling N35m despite government's warning against such.

The aspirants through their lawyers also alleged impersonation of the Head/Oloriebi Alagbeji Chieftaincy/Royal Family, just as they claimed no consensus was reached; instead 'each kingmaker chose a different candidate.'

According to the lawyers, the actions of the Kingmakers constitute criminally obtaining by false pretences, impersonation and breach of trust.

The aspirants are therefore demanding nullification of the entire selection process, the refund of the total sum of N35m collected from the aspirants and thorough investigation of the matter by law enforcement agencies.

The aspirants challenging the selection process listed in the letter are 1) Saheed Adekunle Aregbe 2) Hon. Shakiru Adeola Sadiq 3) Alhaji Kolawole Goloba 4) Prince Kazeem Faronbi 5) Chief Ganiu Mustapha O. 6) Prince Lawal Arowooye Yahya 7) Aremo Abeeb Adeshina Faronbi 8) Moroof Ajala Goloba.

When contacted, the Head of the Kingmakers, Dr. Mukaila Adesegun Agbabiaka claimed ignorance of the letter purportedly written by the law firm. "I have not received any letter from any law firm. When I do, I will respond accordingly," he said.

Reminded that the law firm in the letter (a copy of which is in the possession of The Snoop Media) is alleging irregularities and Illegalities in the selection process, the medical practitioner retorted: "There is nothing more to add other what I have said in the audio which has been widely circulated across the social media. We invited the aspirants; we screened them, we consulted Ifa divination. We were bounded by customs and tradition as well as dictates of the Chieftaincy Law of the state before arriving at our choice.

"I don't know of any irregularities they are claiming. As far as I am concerned, we have done our job consentiously, with high sense of responsibility, dedication and commitment to the development of Isolo. If anybody holds contrary opinion, they should come out and prove it," says the Head of the Kingmakers.
