You Are A Coward
Tricycle Boss, Istijabah Blasts MC Oluomo
The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya (a.k.a MC Oluomo) has come under a sting attack from one of his lieutenants, Alhaji Abdulazeez Abiola, popularly called Istijabah.
Istijabah who is the incoming Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Tricycles Operators and Owners Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), an affiliate of NURTW recently accused MC Oluomo of masterminding a plot to kill him following the directive from the central body of the union to inaugurate the caretaker committee in Lagos.
In a scathing video which is currently trending in the social media, Istijabah detailed how he was attacked by Oluomo's boys at the State Secretariat in the presence of Oluomo.
According to him, after being waylaid by Oluomo's boys, Istijabah disclosed that he took refuge inside his car as the assailants rained bottles on the car.
He added: "After the directive from Abuja that the Caretaker Committee on Keke Marwa should be inaugurated, they sent for me at the State Secretariat. On getting there, I was about signing the attendance register when Oluomo's boy attacked me right before Oluomo.
"They chased me with bottles before I ran into my car. I stayed inside my car while they started throwing bottles. At some point, they wanted to burn me inside the car but some of them counsel against such dastard act.
"They later called in the RRS who rescued me. I was surprised that I was accused of being in possession of a gun. The RRS men searched my car and found nothing incriminating.
"I was later taken to their station and after listening to my story, the police knew it was a power tussle within the union and they released me on self recognition."
The Branch C Chairman further revealed that MC Oluomo is a coward and power drunk adding that his bid to completely take over the control of TOOAN is the crux of the problem between him and Oluomo.
According to him, past chairmen of Lagos NURTW from the late Saula to the immediate past chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede none had taken over TOOAN administration.
"I am not interfering with the running of NURTW but he wants to control TOOAN and the national body had intervened but he seems not be happy with the directive.
"He is a coward and he should know that I am not one he can bully. I am a major stakeholder of the union with over 3000 buses and over 3000 Marwas. I have over 5000 drivers and conductors on my pay roll.
However, in another trending video released by a member of the state executive committee, Prince Monsuru Agbabiaka, he accused Istijabah of being the one fomenting trouble.
The royal prince explained that it was not ideal for some people to sit in Abuja to issue directive on how to administer the union in Lagos, adding that as the state chairman of NURTW, Oluomo has the right to administer the union the best way he deem fit.
He noted that if Oluomo desires to decentralize TOOAN into five branches, so be it adding that this would not be the first time such would be done.
