Exclusive:

HOW TINUBU BROKE NORTHERN JINX TO PICK APC TICKET

By Lanre Olaleye

Prior to the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, tales, conjectures and suppositions were heavily stacked against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's chances of picking the party's presidential ticket.

This hinderance was tied to the mythical 'Northern Agenda' which has been a stumbling block to the dream of many past and present Southern politicians of realizing their dream of becoming their party's presidential flagbearers.

Stories were told of how President Muhamadu Buhari does not trust Asiwaju because of his percieved arrogance even as they claim Tinubu's presidency would go against the Northern interest. But the APC National Leader's sagacity, competence and wide political network has seen him rise above adversities to become the APC presidential flagbearer in the 2023 General Elections.

TINUBU, OSINBAJO IN NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER BATTLE

By Lanre Olaleye

The two frontline All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirants from the South-west, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President, Prof  Yemi Osinbajo are currently locked in a 'No Retreat, No Surrender Battle' for the party's presidential ticket.

This is coming on the heels of the moves by the South West elders to come up with a consensus presidential aspirant for the region which seems to have hit the rock. Both Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are said to be adamant.

Political leaders from the South West geopolitical zone on Sunday continued with their moves to present a common front ahead of the presidential primary of the ruling party slated for tomorrow Tuesday 6th June 2022.

Promoters of the consensus move in the South West including former APC Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, and former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba, had met with the aspirants at the residence of Chief Osoba.

The meeting, which was attended by the aspirants from the South West, governors and elders of the region ended without reaching a consensus.

By Lanre Olaleye

There are strong indications that Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi is favoured to pick the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of other presidential aspirants from the Southern region of the country.

This development is coming on the heels of the public declaration of 11 Northern governors that the Southern region must be given the right to pick the APC presidential ticket.

The Northern governors who met in Abuja on Saturday reasoned that power must shift to the South in recognition of the party's internal policy. The governors in a communique said they sought for power shift to the south in the interest of building a stronger, more united and more progressive country.

They therefore asked Buhari to pick his successor from southern states.

They said: “APC governors and political leaders from the northern states
