'I'M NOT AN EMPEROR'

Dapo Abiodun Hits Back at Tinubu

Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has stated that he is not an emperor by any stretch of the imagination, less than 24 hours after Bola Tinubu, a presidential aspirant and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made a remark.

Tinubu stated Abiodun would not have been governor without him when speaking to APC delegates in Ogun State on Thursday.

Tinubu had said, "Look at this one seated behind me, Dapo, he wouldn't have become governor without my assistance."

But Abiodun stated the next day in a tweet on his verified Twitter page, @dabiodunMFR, that he was not an emperor and that his position as governor of Ogun State was not a familial legacy.

"I am not an emperor by any stretch of the imagination, and this is not a family heirloom.

"I am holding this position in trust for the people of this state, and I have promised to be fair, just, and equitable, and this is the solemn deal I made with the Almighty God," Dapo stated.
