Senate President Akpabio Denies Romance With Three Nollywood Actresses
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has stoutly denied allegations of extra-marital affairs with three Nollywood actresses even as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has launched a full scale investigation into the matter.
This is coming on the heels of allegations of romantic relationship between three female members of the guild and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio
Several actresses have been placed on the guild’s “watchlist” as part of a thorough investigation into the matter .
A blog post in July alleged that Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Nancy Isime, and Ini Edo were involved in extra+marital affairs with Akpabio.
However, Akpabio has vehemently denied these allegations, stating that his wife is enough for him.
Egbuson-Akande has also threatened to sue the blog for defamation, calling the rumors “malicious lies” and offering a N5 million reward for any proof of the alleged affair.
She maintained her innocence, stating that she has never met Akpabio and has no association with him. The actress challenged the originators of the rumor to provide evidence, warning of potential legal action against those spreading false information.
Meanwhile, the AGN has confirmed that the actresses are being investigated by its secret panel, focusing on the recent release of names linked to the Senate President.
In a memo, the AGN stated that some female members on the watch list are being investigated, particularly in relation to the alleged dealings with Akpabio. The guild’s actions aim to protect the reputation of its members and maintain the integrity of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
